I have a corgi, too! Mine is a cardigan named Maddie. She LOVES our barred rock, and went through a phase where she would use her as a chew toy. Had to do a little training on that one. Now she's getting on well with the hens, and is pretty good at herding them. I adore my corgi!
I teach 6th grade, which is not altogether like NSA work. I can sense contraband gum, spit balls, and note-passing with my eyes closed, and I have a 6th sense for a lie. In my next life I'll probably be an NSA interrogator. (I THINK I'm joking about that...)
Welcome, Elisha81!! I'm practically a neighbor, being out in Eatonville. Welcome aboard. The thread moves fast...hold on tight and skim it if you get behind. Lots of experience, here. Sorry you chimed in on a "family squabble" day.

Just had to show off! DH and DS went to a kids' fishing derby yesterday, and DS caught a 16.5 incher, and won 2nd prize! Here he is with his catch and his prize tackle box.
Gosh, I guess I was there around noon. Did you get one of those older chicks? I am at capacity or I'd have come home with a couple. I LOVE the folks at Graham Hay Market! It's a great family-owned place, and the people really know their stuff. I'm glad you went there!
Oh! And at Graham Hay Market they had some 2-5 week old pullets on a buy 10 get 2 free sale. They had silver cochins, speckled sussex, dominique, light brahma, silver laced wyandottes, lakenvelders, and a couple other breeds. Just sayin', if you need some chicks, and you want some that would...
Okay, so a half hour ago DD and I were at the feed store, and DD was looking at the posters of poultry breeds. She saw the poster of the ducks/geese and started singing, "Funny-looking chickens, funny-looking chickens!" (This post is for CR...)
Whoa! Some serious night owls out there, but where are all the early birds? It's pretty lonely here this morning!
DS and DH are over that the pond for the kids fishing derby, and DD and I are lounging around enjoying the quiet. Aaah!
Congratulations on the baby duckies. SOOOOOO cute...
Mmm...Tomorrow is also opening day of fishing season. Could be adding to the RV traffic. After 16 years of living in Mineral, where Opening Day is the big town festival, we only had 1 REALLY nice opening weekend. Could this be the next one????
17 years ago my mare had a really difficult delivery and a giant tear. The day the baby was born, the mare in the next pasture nearly broke the fence down trying to get to the baby while the vet was fixing up Mom. 2 weeks later, my mare died, and we wanted to find the baby a foster mom...not...
I had to laugh! My daughter likes me to tell her stories at bedtime, but she likes me to make them funny and relevant. The current favorite is "Snow Corgi and the 7 Chickens." A past favorite is "Goldilocks and the 3 Skunks." You can imagine how that one ends!

And why toilets? Really. Are we all going to see an ad and think, "Wow. That toilet on that annoying hover ad looks so much superior to the ones I already have. I think I'll run right out and buy me one of those." Now, if they made toilets for chickens, and they had a way to teach chickens...
Oh, and thank you for the pictures of the winning birds. GORGEOUS!
And another benefit of hanging out on BYC...I won a game at a baby shower last week! It was a contest to see who could give the word for each baby animal, and I was the only one who knew that a baby turkey is a poult, and a...
