    you can usually find a few listings on Craigs List, good place to start anyway, you may be able to find someone local to you... also, check the thread for your state, lots of people offer their birds to folks here first, and they are usually a good price or even free... how many hens you need...

    they should still start even during winter, mostly, they will lay less often, but they will lay, even if you don't provide additional lighting. I know lots of people will say that the common starting point of lay is between 16-20 weeks, but most often it's significantly later, like 25-30 weeks...

    first pic, comb is looking almost non-existent... second pic, comb is still wee and pinkish, most likely a few more weeks... can't see their fluffy butts, but the second pic, she still looks "narrow" my best guess... you have another 3 weeks to wait, maybe 2... in my 3rd pic above, the pullet on...
