    What do all of you use on the floor of your coops for the winter? I have been using shavings, but I am thinking about switching to sand. If that is a good idea, how deep of sand do you have? 3",4"??

    So here is my idea. Using the upside down T in the picture, made out of 6" pvc pipe. I will wrap it in the heat cable pictured, then cover that with insulation. I will put the horizontal water nipples on the lower cross section. I figure this should hold 6-7 gallons of water as well. Worst case...
