I had a raccoon come in the catdoor in a basement window. It came up the stairs to get cat food. I was working on the computer, TV was on in the other room. I heard claws on the floor and I turned thinking it was the parrot I had at the time. It ran down the basement stairs but returned a couple...
When I was a kid they came around buying furs in the spring. It was up to $50 for a extra large raccoon in perfect condition.... now it's hard to find a buyer and they were only buying those paying $2 ... not worth the salt for the skin
yeah 87... between a neighbor 3 door down who feeds them ( 2 neighbors in-between have hired trappers at $150 a raccoon in attic and walls), living next to a forest preserve, having 2 creeks and a bunch of town folk releasing in my side drive.... who say they didn't see the house for the trees...
Coons are messy eaters. A wing here a foot there, a few other bits and bobs laying around. In 3 years I have gotten 87 raccoons.
Opossums usually eat the abdomen first. I have gotten over 50
Raptors usually take the head and neck first. Lost most to them but I haven't removed any raptors...
If blackhead is in your area, keep turkeys off ground chickens have been on in previous years.
Otherwise it depends on your turkeys. I have had a cockerels back broken by his best friend jake. I found a chicken hen that a tom was trying to breed, I got to her in time to save her.
A roo and a...
I hate the people who say tomorrow at a certain time, never show never contacted. . Had one guy a week later said he was on his way, told him it was in the freezer :gig

My turkeys like it but the chickens like it after it's picked and wilted. I usually cut the last before the first fall freeze for use in the winter. The...
My poultry eat it after it's picked and wilts. Turkeys really like it. So do deer. I usually harvest and freeze to feed in the winter. The deer came up in Sept and ate it all 😢
When I first got covid masks I figured I could use them to clean the coops and such. For some reason I was thinking they would be used for covid only a few months :barnie
I also use the pipe cutter... when I got a little less sqimish and could grab the comb. Cuts through everything except maybe the skin on the back of the neck. They bleed as much and still have death throws. But with the spinel cord cut I know they aren't feeling it for more than a few seconds
I watched how CX are raised for the stores and know my heritage/CX mixes have a good life and one bad day. ... instead of a miserable life.
I got a handful of CX, kept one for breeding, most were going downhill so it wasn't as hard. I used very sharp loppers because I was sqimish.
