I figured there would be roosters involved starting with chicks. The people I know with chickens aren't restricted to hens by ordinance, like I am, and would take one if needed. But, processing can be achieved! With a 6 hen limit, I wonder if I should start with 8 chicks and hope for at least...- dstahl41

I don't have a specific breed I'm looking for. I'll have to find out what breeds are available and then choose. I do want to get started soon, though. I'm sure Heritage is correct. I've spoken with a couple of people who raise chickens on a smaller scale and they are both big fans of the practice.- dstahl41

I'm going to start raising chickens in my back yard and thought I should see what wisdom I could glean from experienced hoosier chicken people.
