Free to good coup,,,,,Two Roos one year old approx.
One is a Sumatra roo we called "Rockstar" as he is a good looking boy and seemingly good provider for the hens when free ranging
The other is a Choc, Barred Orp. beautiful bird as well
PM me with any interest

This is what happened with the one (1) that we lost last season when it came time to get them back in the coup....we discovered one of our Barred's gone. Haven't lost any since but would still like to know what got her.
Anyone looking for a nice rooster?....I have a Sumatra that's a good looking guy and seems well behaved, he will be a year old in late March or early April, PM me if interested. Seven of 11 chicks from this Spring turned out to be....roosters
Sorry to hear about your Mom falling Janet, glad...
You could add a roof turbine unit which would help " pull " some of the hot air out and perhaps add a window that would allow air movement and some light. :)

Okay Janet....waiting to hear from a couple folks locally ( but may indeed take you up on this!!!! ) My wife was also gonna try posting on Avon Chatter.....

Why do you need to get rid of them all so quickly? @jchny2000 will usually take free roos and free range them, but she's got a lot on her plate. I often take in free roos to see how they grow up and find them new homes once we find out how chivalrous they are with the...

HELP!!!!!
For anyone in or around the Avon area that would like a few cockerels from @jcnhy2000's stock I have (2) Easter Egger's and (1) Lavender Splash Sumatra and (1) White Leghorn from @racinchickens stock.
We are not planning on breeding in the near future...

I have found that as long as I leave the doors to the runs open while they're " free ranging " they ( as needed ) go back inside and use the nesting boxes....so everyone is happy. I even made and set a couple outside the coup in the back of our barn up off the floor and they use those as well.
Oh my! If thats the case please let me know. I made the effort to make sure you got pullets, and we can swap. Wait til theres no doubt, at least 12 weeks.
Well....it appears we were right, we have @ least (2) Americauna's that are crowing and feathering in like roosters and since we're not...
Hope you folks have a nice time with great weather Janet, congrats to you both on your Anny. My bride and I just celebrated our 35th on the 23rd..we headed N up to the Dunes and then cruised the Michigan coastline and stayed a night in a couple different towns.
Hello all, just throwing this out there in the event I'm right about my hunch. I was outside our smaller outdoor run where the little ones from @jchny2000 are and there were many out @ the time...when not one but three (2) of the little black Americauna's and the one Choc. Orp.( really hoping...
Very sorry to hear Janet....that's gotta be tough!! On a brighter note, the eleven chicks we got from you are ALL doing great so far. We recently moved them from their " grow up pen" to the main coup ( sub-divided of course ) for their initial face to face meet n greet...and that too has...
Yes.....Happy Easter everyone. Am taking advantage of this nice start to the day to till inside the outdoor runs. (1) 10'x10' and one 10' x 20' And now have moved on to burying some old corrugated panels I had around the perimeter of the runs. Haven't had any issues with " tunnel-ins " from...
Wow.....well that's not good, sure glad you folks are okay and they didn't get in!! My understanding is there's been a rash of vehicle break ins around Avon as well....We had a couple of issues very early on when we first moved out here 25+ yrs. ago... but nothing per se until the economy went...
Thank you very much iamfivewire....but jcny2000 is a bit closer :)
