With the addition of inner fencing and a gait at the end of the driveway, that problem should now be solved. One hen was killed. The other one has survived but was pretty well "skinned." There is a patch about the size of my open hand that has no flesh left, plus severe puncture wounds here...
To all of you who want more eggs, I'm sorry - I'm closing sales. I lost one of my roosters recently. I also lost two hens due to dog attacks. I am going to close sales until next year, as I have young Brahmas that need time to grow up and build my flock back up. Thanks for understanding!
I lost my gold partridge roo over the summer, so now only have one blue partridge roo. Also, one of my gold partridge girls just got severely mauled by a dog. If she lives, it's going to be a long time before I'm going to let a roo near her.
Long story short - when we get back from vacation...
I haven't had a chance to start up my breeding pen yet. We will be going on vacation tomorrow, so it might be another week, if I don't get them in today. They so enjoy free ranging, I hate to put them in "prison" again!
I am going to set my breeder pen up in September. Then after a 4-week wait I'll check for fertility, so it looks like we will be ready in October. Check back with me then.

The bad - One of my gold hens has decided to go broody, so one less egg a day. Out of seven girls, I'm getting an egg a day from the three blue girls, one egg a day from a gold girl, another girl laying sporadically, and...
#15 shipped today. I have 6 dozen more eggs to go before I'm caught up on all previous orders!!!!
Now for the bad news -
With the cost of packaging materials (box, tape, bubble wrap), the gas (30-minute drive to post office), and the very unfriendly man behind the counter at the post offie...
I still have 11 dozen to go on my original list. I'll probably be opening sales again in May.
Thanks!
Also, I have three blue partridge pullets that should be about ready to lay, so in another month or two that will mean three more eggs daily. By then, the older ladies should all be...
I've shipped 8-1/2 dozen so far. Buyer #6 eggs will be going out next Monday. You are #16 on the list, so it will be a while. I'm talking to the girls every day. There are three who aren't laying right now, so I keep showing them pictures of fried chicken in hopes that they will get the...
