In our one coop, we use only straw/hay (because DBF is stubborn/cheap LOL). In my coop, I use pine shavings mostly and sometimes add some straw/hay. I prefer the shavings because they are at least somewhat absorbent. I also find them easier to clean and the coop doesn't get quite as...
