Excelllent advice already given, and you're doing super. Two things: unless he picks at the wound, or it gets dirty from shavings or other sources, leave it uncovered--or at least loosely covered. It's best to avoid a warm, moist environment (like a bandage) with a "dirty" (non-surgical)...
