    i cook the same way, a while back someone asked how to make homemade chicken noodles. i gave them "my instructions" but we feed a small army here. when the day comes that DW and i cook for ourselves, we are going to be lost.

    i have used brown sugar in brines several times, ive used molasses too; that was great on hams IMO. we have to watch sugar around mom and my step dad, both are diabetic. i hoped the bacon would add some sweetness, but i didnt really taste it, just the smoke flavor.
