Been away for awhile.. Ok here's some updated pics of the kids.. The trio look nothing alike.. LOL and sadly the mama duck was lost with her clutch of eggs last month when a crafty coon broke into the duck area.. :( So no more rainbow ducks for awhile.. Here is the yellow one now...

I know it's like a surprise with every egg.. makes it interesting I guess then just having plain ol Rouens.. :)

Rainbow ducks continue.. Here's mix #2 fluffed out and the one that hatched today.. will be interesting to see what the ones the hen is sitting on turn out to be.. maybe mixes but cute little ducks!

Ok so here's mix #2.. looks more like a Rouen but not.. :p Two more are hatching in the bator now and the hen is siting on a pile due in two weeks.. going to be surrounded by ducklings.. lol

Ok so decided to incubate a few more eggs to give little yellow some friends first up to hatch looks like a Rouen.. go figure.. the hen is laying on a clutch of eggs now.. I figure when they hatch I'll have a rainbow of ducks.. LOL I'll have to get a shot of it once it's done fluffing up..

Here is a photo of the duck today.. I swear if I wasn't 100% for certain that it wasn't a Pekin egg I incubated (only ones I have are a month old and not laying) I'd SWEAR this looked like a Pekin.. :) Can't wait till it's feathers start to grow in.. :)

Will do it he just looks the same right now just doubled in size can't wait till those feathers start to come in.. :)

Sadly no this was taken last summer the two Pekins in the photo were killed over the winter.. :(

Strangely enough after fluffing out it almost has the faint markings around it's eye and on this back like a Rouen would.. should be interesting to see what it grows up to be.. :) Here are some better photos.. :)

Egg was white as it came from a Rouen hen here is a photo from today. It just has maybe a slight different shade of yellow on it's head and a little on it's back. And no chance of a muscovy one night stand .. as they were penned up in a separate area till about two weeks ago and this drake...

LOL well that would explain why it's not black and yellow.. So would that make it a Saxon or a Roueny

OK so I got a drake for my Rouen hen and tested out her eggs found one fertile and growing and it hatched to day.. but HUH? This doesn't look like a Rouen duck.. or at least not what my hen looked like when she hatched. It's the only ducks I have out there at this time as the Muscovy's when...
