Okay, finally saw your girl, Chelsea! She's cute!!!
The French Black Copper Marans rooster Chelsea has is purebred from very good lines, with correct coloring and conformation, if I remember from the last pic I saw of him. It must be somehow due to the cross of the two breeds...you...
I'm not sure. Wynette will know. I sent her a PM of a picture of Lily, so she can see also.

I don't have any recent photos of him uploaded I'll grab a picture of him in the morning when I let them out. He hates boots, all boots. So, he'll be trying to peck my toes in the morning.
He has black legs. I'll try to get a picture of him tomorrow. They free range, and he's out in the back 40.

I don't think I have an updated photo of him uploaded. I'll see if I do.
One of the roosters in that group. I blue koted her where her feathers were picked. The feather picking offender had the purple ( blue kote ) beak. I then put hot pick on her, and he hasn't bothered anyone since.

Both chickens are pure bred, and have correct color legs. Yep, the rooster is black copper maran. The BCM is from Wynette. She is the only one who hatched out like that.
She's not laying yet. She is only 8 weeks old.

Here's a picture of that welsummer hen/ BCM rooster cross. Her legs are light blue, although the picture doesn't do it justice.
Please excuse her missing feathers in the back. The offender has been identified by a purple beak.
So, this is just for reference in case anyone else ever comes...

That hen in the third picture. Was she crossed with a welsummer? I have one right now who looks exactly like that one except she has light blue legs with white feathering on the legs. She is beautiful, and we named her Lily. Her blue legs are confusing me however. She is the only one...
Yes, she's from Stevie. I'll get pics posted as soon as possible. The weather has been crappy as you know, so I don't want to bring them out yet on the cold wet ground yet. The ground is still very muddy. She's gorgeous, and the only one who turned out like that. I have some males in that bunch...
Yeah, we leave the light off during the winter to give the hens a break. However, none of my hens quit laying. Apparently, it didn't bother my rooster either.
I was testing my incubator back in Jan. ( I keep very accurate notes. ) The previous hatch I did last spring did not do well, and I...
Oh no, I only crossed for my own benefit. Not anyone elses. So my straddling the rail is for my own benefit. I like to experiment. It's how I learn.
During the winter, none of the breeds are seperated. It is easier for both the chickens and myself. We have a huge existing building on our...
I'll get a pic up no problem later. We are hoping for some warmer weather, and the darn rain to go away. I'll edit this post later when I go out there.
She's only 8 weeks old, so she's not laying yet. I'm not worried about the light blue legs as a fault. It was just a surprise to see it. I had...

I will post a pic of her. The weather hasn't been cooperating, and they are 8 weeks old. I don't want to put them out in the tractor while it's cold and raining. It's supposed to be nice this week, but I haven't seen any proof of that yet. She is my favorite.
The test hatch I did was...
