If I was looking to buy purebred eggs I wouldn't buy them from a pen that has two different breeds in it. Are you planning on selling eggs from them? Or only having them for yourself.
I'd also be afraid of the bigger roo hurting the littler hens.

Yeah, ouch! Cant wait to hear how hatching goes for your Wheaties! How does fertility look otherwise when you crack them open? Those are such pretty eggs, oh my!! Are you going to be selling/sharing eggs or is there a mile long list of drooling spectators already?? Yeah, I really...
One more week and my wheatens will have been seperated 3 weeks so I can start setting some of their eggs and quit using them this way!! It is sooooo very hard to break them into that bowl!!
LOL...well since everyone seems to want these kinds of chickens now, the best breeders probably all have waiting lists. That is also the reason people order lower quality chicks from the hatcheries hoping to luck out and get good quality birds which more than likely isn't going to happen. As...

Oohhh Katy, I wish we were all so fortunate, that when we first ventured into Marans, in our ignorance, we could have gotten such quality birds that lay such beautiful eggs our first time out! It does take good selection and breeding to have such nice stock, and have eggs as Show...

This picture is...

They hatched from pretty dark eggs, so I'm hoping they'll be dark too. My cuckoos have me spoiled...they lay such nice dark eggs. I'm still waiting on these girls first eggs.
Here's some of my Wheatens. They haven't started laying yet, but I don't think some of them are too far from it. My roo has no tail feathers because one of my buff orpingtons insists on plucking his and one of my BLRW roo's out. The BLRW is seperated now and so hopefully his tail will start...
