Thanks, I am new to this and I am trying to learn the standards. One of the hens has far less copper coloring and I am not sure if that is good or not good?? I think my one egg is a nice color - I have ordered the BCM egg color chart to help me.
Congrats Geebs! They are beautiful And those eggs look outstanding
I had a long road trip today too - I picked up 4 BCM adults from bayhorsebonnie - tomorrow when I get them settled I will post pics.
I was at her house last night, she sold almost everything to one man -- he is local to her area. I wanted to buy adults from her as well as eggs -- but I was too slow! So I got lots of eggs and a sweet incubator. She is going to put me in contact with the man that bought everything.
Thanks Geebs, that is a great idea! I have a hova bator gensis I can use at lockdown as an additional hatcher for the light color eggs, leaving the dark ones in the sportsman. Now I am going to get some of those bands to mark the dark egg chicks...
And that chick is just adorable!

Thank you, I am so excited I can hardly wait. Today is day 1... I will update with the hatch with pictures of course. And I will be looking for advice on which ones to hold back to start my foundation when the time comes.
Here they are -- the flash washed out the color a bit. Some are REALLY dark (to me anyway) and others so-so. But I am pleased Hopefully will get a great hatch because these were not shipped.

I am happy to hear this -- I just bought 30+ from bayhorsebonne yesterday when I visited her to pick up a sportsman. They will be the start of my Black Copper Marans flock. The eggs are beautiful - some darker than others.
