I am in the middle of houses and yards. And worst if all, people who feed the deer, rabbits, chipmunks and everything else that eats my garden.
That only works in spring and summer when you have a garden and don't want them. Only problem is it's not shooting season.
I have been tempted to beat one or two to death with my shovel after they ate an entire bed of something. Lol
Oh you are so fortunate. DH usually comes back empty handed. He hurt his arm and won't be hunting at all now.

Had a stent put in 8 days ago. I'm taking it very easy. It was 95% blocked. Dr says rest of my heart is in much better shape because I garden. Until just a couple years ago I could still dig it by shovel myself. I did try to do one bed in spring but couldn't do it.

My 28 yr old DS is at least interested in the garden. Most of it is edible - grapes, raspberry, blackberry, apple, cherry, pear, hardy kiwi, blueberry. Herb garden & raised beds. No grass. I like to know what goes in my food.
Oldest DD (36) gardens and has ducks, chickens & goats. She butchers...
Also they get a cramp in the texting finger from moving it in different positions (such as holding a paring knife). Just not used to all that physical labor. Lol

I found out that you can save a lot of work if making applesauce. I wash well then core them and cut in half. Fill my huge pot and add just a few inches of water. The peels come off when you strain it and add pretty color to it if they're red. Or you can put in a few crabapple for color. Less...
