Forgive my ignorance here, Sandee, but how do you do a rapid cool down? I would love to do some ribs. Can you tell a newbie to the pressure cooker how step-by-step? LOL

That banana jam is awesome over ice cream, just heat it a tad. I am not a fan of banana jam myself, but dh and family loves it and it is real pretty in the jar.
Is there a post, number please?, for the spiced apple rings? What are the best kind of apples to use? These would make a beautiful festive Christmas gift to add to the baskets of jellies, etc.
Isn't it wonderful how they all help each other? We watched a barn go up in a couple days here. It was a huge barn but everyone working together makes it go very fast. I would love to have them build me a house. Not that I want it fast, but their work is beautiful and well done.

Dh and I live near Amish country and we thought perhaps it was because of the local gatherings, such as church, etc. They also visit one another every other Sunday when it isn't a church Sunday.

That is what I do. When I make just plain jalapeno jelly, I like to have several red peppers in the jelly to give it that festive look for the holidays.
I do not add food coloring to my jelly.

I really admire you for making up that many jars of apple pie filling! Throw a large handful of nuts (we prefer black walnuts)into the next pie and blow everyone away.

You know I have gotten to the point where I add a half diced granny smith apple to my jams to insure they set up. You can't taste the apple and I know they will be ok. Half and apple per six half pint jars. Hope this helps you.
Try putting the roast in the crockpot ( on low)and leave it overnite..or have you done this? I have never heard of anything not falling off the bone after many hours of slow cooking that is why I thought that your crockpot was "broken"? LOL Good luck and I hope you are thrilled this time...

I sometimes have this same problem with the crock pot. I spoke with my friend - he's professional BBQ chef - who told me to cook it in the oven at 250 degrees for 10-12 hours, getting the temp up to 180*. I told him that I have an electric roaster, and he said that was a great...
