    Yup that is cold alright. What is under the cement block, that plywood, or more tile, or both? Actually Ron had a good idea using one of the funnel shaped light bulb holders facing up so the heat also goes up.

    I moved mine into the coop when temps got below freezing and I started using my cookie tin heater. when they get back above freezing for good, sometime towards spring, I will move it back out to the run. And I'll be unplugging and removing the cookie tin heater till next winter.

    During the night it got to just below 0 deg, and that is why i said that when it does get that cold during the night, I will just switch out the waterers in the morning. It will get that cold quite a number of times during the winter here. hopefully not most nights. And mine was not frozen...
