Thank you for responding. Today is hatch day. One egg has already hatched. The other (the one with the tiny air cell) has pipped at the correct end so I have hope he-she will be ok. It has been pipped for over 12 hours so I'm getting anxious.
I have just 2 eggs in the incubator due to hatch in 7 days! Both are moving and look good but I can't find the air cell in the darker of the 2 eggs. I'm really nervous that this little one wont make it. Help!!! I can't remember with certainty for the life of me if I ever saw an air sac in this...
So happy. I was concerned with last night's candling when it appeared I had just an immobile mass in 2 eggs and a clear 3rd. After reading the links Sally posted me I candled again and saw a chick dancing in it's egg! I feel like a first time mother all over again!!!! :weee
On day 10 with my first hatch. 2 of my 3 eggs have a dark mass filling 1/2 the egg going lengthwise and in a fixed position. The yolk in the third egg is dark and moving freely with a very dark spot in it but no visible blood vessels. My question is which of these sounds normal. The shells are...
I know it is early but I have been anxious so I candled my eggs this am (day 5) and found that all three are, thankfully, fertilized. Feeling optimistic.:fl
It has been crazy cold here too, -15 last night. I had no idea how long eggs could go before being collected and still viable so I actually put on my winter gear, grabbed my coffee, and waited in the coop until I got 3 promising looking eggs. I know it is crazy but I really want these chicks. Lol.
