So my mallard and her girlfriend Wednesday (a blue swede) seem to be sharing a nest. I caught Wednesday sitting on it twice this weekend, but I still can't really believe they're mating. Also they don't sit on the nest most of the day that I've seen, so there's gotta be no way those eggs would...- sunnyfishy

Guess I'll let her have a go at hatching them next spring! It'll be funny to see if she is actually laying fertile eggs.- sunnyfishy

So cute! I've never had a truly broody duck yet, but my little mallard did start laying in a little spot. (I think our Ancona or Blue swede snuck an egg in there). She had a few more eggs in it, but I took them out since we were making some bread. What's weird to me is I don't even think...- sunnyfishy

Our first pekin had double yolk eggs about 30% of the time for like, the first month she was laying, and after that, it never seemed to happen again.- sunnyfishy
