hi Bee ,hope u have success with the WR's,would be good to see a nice flock of them running in yr field.
my winter hatch r outside now, getting ready to separate the girls from the boys.
looks like i will sell all bar one, from the 19 -come spring.like Fred says "keep the best sell the rest"...

I would vote for # 1
still patiently waiting for brooder pics
cheers Pete
wish i had taken more notes on previous hatch's ,but visually this last batch appeared slightly bigger than pre FF- now at 3wks weighting 190 grams from a 45g start, they look like quail (bulging) wings & back 3/4 feathered out

chin up - u have taken this experiment further...
hi Jules, I'm with "cowpoke" ,my calculation of day 21 was 16th,.?
i would not have worried about seeing any movement, chic has to position& rest , ready to internally pip not be jumping around developing.
that's why its called lockdown -candle day 18 ,mark expected pip position ,then leave...
go for it, if u can tell which r the WR eggs ,given yr sml flock size, any clears would be minimum IMO
a vigorous cockerel should have no prob covering up to 15 hens
i like to run about 12 hens/pullets in my flock,as any number less than 6 hens results in bare backs on a few ,as my roo plays...
