I agree with vm, they are going to have to work it out and yes drakes are rough on their girls but he needs to establish himself as their dominant role model and you keep interfering in it. As long as he isn't "really hurting them" I'd let them be together. It's like he has a flock and he...
They are gorgeous and now that we see Reese with the girls it's even more noticeable that's a drake. And a very handsome one, I hope he can find a good home too. How is Whistles taking it all? the move new friends. Congrats on getting moved and set up. It's a big undertaking for sure.
My drake loves to nibble on my clothes. Whistles is amazing, everytime I see him I keep thinking how far he has come. He's going to be so happy to have some friends.
Oh can't wait to see Whistles with his new girls. He is so handsome. about the duck at the shelter, I just could not make up my mind if drake or duck at one angle it looked like a feminine face but the size was confusing me, but hopefully they vent sexed her she sure is pretty.
Tractor Supply carries it Tracy and as far as I can see has the best price, I k now this own't help Sampy but it will anyone living in the USA. if you have found it cheaper let us know.
I had a hen[chicken] with bumble foot on both feet, and I read on here about soaking the feet with ES then using Colorless iodine on the bumbles, so I started doing this I'd soak her feet ,dry them and apply the Colorless iodine top and bottom and wait a couple and do it again after 4th use I...
Spend as much time outside with him, he's probably lonely since he's use to having ya'll right there but it won't be long now so Mr. Whistles will just have to be patient because better days are just around the corner. with girls too.
When we brought 3 ducks home for our drake it was love at first sight and because he was being so hormonal with me I was really concerned he would be so with them but he wasn't at all, but I think your right in giving the girls a chance to bond and keep Whistles on the other side of the fence...
Sampy she is gorgeous and what a blessing to have someone deliver her right to you. I don't thin Whistlers will mind a bit, she does look very Scovy. too.
subhanalah is right, these girls were accepted right into the flock, I think once you get settled and find Whistles some girls you'll enjoy not only seeing Whistles a happy drake but you'll have the benefit of some fresh duck eggs. And the joy of watching the antics of Scovy's. Much more...
In about a week after we brought them home the 4 of them were bonded like they had hatched together and are still a close nit group although I lost one of the girls to an egg breaking inside of her a couple months ago, It doesn't take them long to form a flock.
