    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Oh no, :hugs Assisting a hatch takes a lot of energy. Makes me give more respect the chicks that actually do it on their own & survive. You must be exhausted! Great pics, love the macros! Such cuties <3

I use my cell phone too! Lol! With my first hatch I was able to see internal pips as well :)

    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

I can't really answer that question, but I live in a very wet climate (North Carolina) & lots of people have silkies out here.

    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

I'm keeping a close eye on them. Silkies outnumber the leghorns I wonder what they will look like when they're older. I've never raised silkies before, but I hear a lot of great things about them. They're all in a cuddle puddle right now lol

    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Oh, I know what you mean, it's the same with mine. With my homemade incubator, I was up every 2 hours putting water through the holes to wet dish towels I had in it. Pain in the butt! Brinsea has one with a programmable temp & humidity pump & automatic egg turner. The one I would like would be...

    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Lol, no worries! Hate when that happens :) Yeah bleached it out, & have it air drying right now. I think what's upsetting is I lost a lot of sleep from monitoring the humidity, & turned down opportunities to go places. I don't have the best incubator, & that's my punishment for wanting more...

    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

No they're definitely all dead, but despite my epic fail, I'm somewhat relieved. Now I can have my life back lol Looks like some died on day 10 due to the power outage & some died day 14, because I forgot to turn them. I thought they would be a little more resilient but I guess not. Maybe...

    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Well... All of them, dead. Looked back in my log to see what happened day 14, looks like I forgot to turn them so they were in one position for about 10 hours. One WAS moving day 17, not anymore. Not sure what happened. Just going to stick with broodies from now on.

    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Did it. One died day 10, the others around day 14. Now to double check the others. Ugh. I'm ready to pull the plug & just go out & buy some. Stuck here at home, on a nice day...

    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

I candled my eggs, down to 17 out of 23 that went into lockdown, dreading the eggtopsy in a few...

    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Thanks! lucky you, I wish my broody sat often. she hatched some out Day 22 or 23 & she decides to go broody at the most inconvenient times; in the extreme heat or extreme cold. She's not a very good mom either. I lost 2 pullets while she was weaning & the only ones left were boys, so I gave them...

    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Day 20 - no pips, no peeps, & no wobbly eggs. :( This is a first... Usually I'd have one chick by now. I only saw one moving before lockdown. I guess I'll find out when I do eggtopsies on Tues. blegghhh :(

    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Oh wow! Yeah, I'll be surprised if I get more than one hatching since I only saw one of them move during candling. I have an alarm that goes off every hour to check humidity, well last night I slept through 2 of them & the humidity got down to 57%! Yikes! . I don't think there's a right or wrong...

    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Come to think of it; are you doing still air, or are you using a fan in your still air incubator? I have not done still air, but from my understanding is you don't need you humidity at 65-70% if it's still air. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though. I'm only on my 3rd hatch here lol :) Either...

Love all the pics, emus, ostriches & pheasants... This is probably the best hatch along thread yet! Even if my hatch turns out bad, I'm enjoying all the varieties of birds on this thread. This is my favorite time of year :)

    APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

I lived in Yuma for 6 years, oh my, I do miss the sunrises & sunsets out there! Thanks for the memories :) Yay! Congrats! I only saw 1 of my embryos moving when I candled on Day 17/18. Out of 30 I pulled 11 I thought were bad, cracked open 4 that died before day 5, then 1 looked like it died...
