My situation was nearly the exact same. 22 eggs, 13 made it to day 18, 5 hatched, 3 live! I'm not sure I want to continue. However, I have an idea for next time that may yield better results.

Ok good. For a moment I thought it was trying to commit suicide! I'm keeping the newbies separated in the brooder tonight so they don't get pecked. In the morning I should have another out and at least 2 more pipped.

got a strange question. I have a chick that just hatched that is in a separate area in the brooder drying. A few times now I've seen lying on it's back, once sleeping, the others it was crying. Is this normal for chick newbies? What should my concern level be? Thank you!

Mine just started this morning, day 24. I know mine are due to low temperatures. I didn't think it would make that much of a difference. Two are out and resting in a separate container in the brooder. One is thinking about coming out, one died in the shell after being the first to pip, two more...

Ok...I'll rescind that post. As I was uploading that video the chick zipped more than 50% around the egg and has since hatched. Thank you though.

And this one...white membrane exposed. chick is still breathing but no recent expansion of zip. Should I help? If so, how?

entering day 24. candeled for activity, all but 2 going strong, heard the tiniest of peeps and heard 2 pecking...THIS HATCH MIGHT JUST HAPPEN AFTER ALL!l!!!!

no pips yet but I have 2 that are rocking, candled 5 others and still have action inside. We're ok, just have some slow-mo's!!!

Day 19 over here. Started with 20, Lost one to the blood ring, tossed 3 out of ignorance, and had 2 early quitters. Getting humidity up right now...getting anxious .
