Only have to worry about Tetanus if you get a puncture wound.
We found a silver ring a couple weeks ago and a lot of change.
The water is still too cold to me for any gold hunting.
The bounty hunter coil is waterproof to about two inches. But it really only has two beeps, iron and everything else.
The garret control head actual has a digital readout to tell you what it is scanning and has multiple tones. It also cost several hundred more than the bounty hunter though.
Depends on what options you want on it and what price range?
I use a cheap Bounty Hunter Gold Hunter, I think its called. It is a basic detector for like 60 bucks. No frills but it works well.
Biggest thing is, any detector you get, you have to learn it. It takes a while but once you learn it...
We find a lot of artifacts here as well. The coolest have been a carved limestone owl and a very small mortar and pestle. We have never found any geodes, but have a few diamonds. And found flint in one spot in the middle of Ohio from three different states.
I don't need a camper, just my lean-to tarp, lol.
And no, drought doesn't move gold around, though a water supply does make it much easier to move more material.
All of my gear is for water work, including my power sluice that runs off a garden hose.
YouTube, and just look some stuff up. Or invite me down and I'll bring my gear and camp for a weekend. Lol
I learned completely in the beginning with YouTube though. Built most of my own gear.
Yup, same with Ohio. Its like flower here, but still cool to find. We get a lot of flint here, and garnets, even the odd diamond every now and again.
Last year we got a quarter ounce of gold and eleven pounds of lead from one creek in probably eighty hours of work.
Hi all,
Any prospectors on here?
I have been prospecting for gold and native artifacts for three years.
I use sluices, pans, metal detectors, and built myself a dredge last year.
Mostly I seem to just remove lead from waterways, but its enjoyable non the less.
