I suppose the original title is not what I ended up liking. Yes I want lots of big eggs, but also some variety in the flock and variety in the egg basket.

Yeah, I've definitely decided against bantams and want the large eggs also. I've decided my wish list in the sig.

I've narrowed it down to my possible top 10. I want to have 6-12 hens (I think) maybe two of each kind. I know a few of the top ten might be hard to find. Top Ten choices cold weather, big eggs, lots of eggs Tell me what you think. Bob

Someone linked chickenbox from another thread. I made a spread sheet showing egg size, eggs per year. I cut it off at 50 grams (no bantams). It's too bad a lot of these seem to be hard to find breeds. Egg layers by breed - egg count - egg size

I've been thinking I'd want to get standard for the larger eggs, but feed per egg it seems the bantams might be a good deal.

I'm sure there's a few threads on this but they didn't turn up w/ a search. What's every one keeping for strictly egg layers.
