Ours love the water! At least, most of them do. They wade in any puddles they can find, and today they were out there getting soaked in the pouring freezing rain.
Chicken bird bath!
That is funny! I've never had geese, always wanted some. That is really being creative in trying to treat them, good job! Too bad I couldn't get the peacock to do that.
Although he did fine with the Baytril.
Hmm..well that's interesting. We use ACV pretty regularly in the chicken's drinking water, so I guess that would make sense, I just never thought of it as an eye wash. But do you think it does a better job than regular eyewash or saline?
I think he will probably need antibiotic, either topical or baytril or both, to clear up the eye. They are hard to clear up when they get to that stage.
Well, don't wait too long, cause it will just make it that much longer he has to be on it. If you could get someone to help you, I still think if someone hand feeds him while the other one mists his eye, with a mix of saline and antibiotic ointment, it might work. If you warm the spray bottle...
Diluted ACV to wash his eye would burn like crazy! Use eyewash if you use anything. If you can handle him enough or get close enough to him to put drops or gel in his eye, you can start with that, and it will probably help. Use triple antibiotic ointment without the pain killer in it. You...
What about rescue places? There are a few online. Sometimes they have poultry. Worth a shot. Whatever you get, remember to keep in quarantine for a month or so....
It's almost certainly a sinus infection I think. I don't know anything about geese but we went through this with our peacock, and people who know way more than me told me that is probablywhat it was. I would guess geese are similar. We treated our peacock with Cipro/ Baytril and ideally we...
