Just an update on my new girls. In the end I decided to get another coop so I have two now, and got an additional 8 girls, I ended up with :
1 Buff Barred (Buffy)
2 Silver Stars (Snowy and Snowflake)

I do not have the facilities to hatch my own - wish I did - but I do not have separate facilities for them - plus with my other animals its not a good idea to have youngsters around. My dogs start to drool when they see the chickens. One cat is terrified of them - the other terrifies...

Barred rocks are as rare as hen's teeth in my area for some reason - I don't want to purchase over the internet - I want to be able to look the girls over before buying so I can also check out their current living conditions.
