I just wanted to update my Cx passed away on Christmas Eve. I thought she was dying in the afternoon and she. Rest In Peace fatty she was Funny and very friendly.
No didn't keep any roosters they were to big. Was hoping my buff rooster would breed her but she doesn't want any part in that activity the eggs were never fertile.
I have a cx I keep from last year and she is still going strong she is now 19 months old. And her name is fatty and comes when you call her. She is so friendly I don't know how long she will live but I enjoy her she just went through a big moult not long ago.
I have a Cornish cx that is 18 weeks and started laying last week we have gotten 5 eggs from her already. She started laying earlier then I thought she would the eggs are medium size.
Well 6 went to freezer camp these were 91/2 weeks and the females dressed between 6.50 lbs to 7.25 lbs and the one male weighted drumroll 11.25lbs dressed I am amazed at the weight and growth.
Well tomorrow is the day to send some meaties to freezer camp I hate this part they are sweet birds but 1 male 9 weeks is so big looks like a turkey with a chicken head he was huffing and puffing when he walks we had heat wave of 80 this will be the first time doing it.
We are going to put them in tractor coop as I have property the only problem it is still cold and we still have snow on the ground in Central NY. I am getting more chicks next weekend we are picking them up.
