Going to put one last set of eggs in the incubator next week and call it good till the New Years Hatch-Along. I want to give the chicks some time to grow before putting them outside in the not too freezing by then yet weather. (In Georgia) I feel like I am over run by chicks though with this...

The staggered hatch thing was a crazy idea on my part. WHY did I put just two eggs in to hatch at one point? One was a twin egg, one of the twins pipped the wrong end, neither of them made it :( Do twins ever make it? The other chick is so small next to the week old chicks! 4 Due out...

I have read that eggs that go cold for a day or two have been still hatched! Just make sure to give them an extra few days to hatch as development slows when it is not the right temp! It might still be ok! Have hope!

Very happy with the shipped eggs, many had big air cells and they still hatched! Frizzles are a genetic mutation that makes the feathers of any breed turn outward. So you can have a frizzle silkie, or frizzle cochin or many Polish. With sizzles, the breeders are aiming for all the traits...

All but two of those chicks came from shipped eggs. No polish, those we hope are sizzles. Most likely though they will be silkies and frizzles. I would love polish chicks!

Well it looks like a lot of late deaths but over all we got 10 out of 17 eggs! 10 chicks are doing great and we are so happy with them! Took them out for a second this afternoon (100 degrees + in the sun here! Ugg) to take a picture.

I thought we had electrolys but I guess we used them all on the last chicks :( Everything is closed right now here.... -sigh- I hope they make it through the night. So far they seem "normal" in the brooder! Less than a day old and something already tried to cook them!
