Somewhere around the 50 chick mark this morning. Lost 2 that managed to drown in 1/8" of water. Quail chicks are both clumsy and have no regard for one another, so they were probably trampled and just happened to be near the water at the time. Lesson learned. Today is day 19 so I'll clean out...

Moved 38 fluffy quail to the brooder this morning. I'll give the remaining eggs a day or two before cleaning out the incubator and starting over again.

Left for work this morning with zero pips. Came back 11 hours later to find, by my best count, 28 quail chicks and more on the way. Looks like none of the largest eggs have hatched so maybe they take a little longer?

I finally broke down and got a hovabator with turner and quail rails for the 91 eggs I set last week. Last batch was 66 and I just rocked my DIY incubator back and forth :P

Day 6. I'll see if I can wait to candle until tomorrow, but I'll probably throw whatever I have (probably ~60 eggs) into the empty incubator tonight.
