Thanks, how will I know if I have enough air circulation? I am new and hoping to put some eggs in soon. Any way of telling prior to adding eggs or will I only know when I try to hatch the eggs?
Can I ask what you all use for incubators? I have this cheap one from eBay and apparently it doesn't have enough ventilation and I am hoping to be able to make do with it as I wont get my money back for it for sure...
Mine still arent laying so Im assuming I have atleast 2-4 weeks (depending on when they lay) before I start incubating as I was told to wait 2 weeks after eggs are layed for new layers so I guess I cant join but do love the baby joy
At the moment I have moved the incubator to my room and i put it in a Styrofoam box as i was concerned the box it came in want allowing enough air to circulate, but it makes it so big. Will it be safe to put it in the cardboard box it came in with the foam surrounding it or will it not allow...
Looking at all the babies being born makes me want to hatch some eggs now Can anyone tell me how long to give the hens and rooster before I should be safe to get fertile eggs please?
The leghorn hens are 9 months and no they havent been with the rooster yet until I got them. The ventilation is under them as well as a few airholes around it also.
