To update my chicks ... The little cockerel is walking well, seems like a full recovery, I put him with the others, but he got chased, so brought him back in. I had to separate, him from my little chick Phoebe, he is a little terror, he kept trying to mate with her! She is now trying to walk...

My chicks are still very perky, and one has started to walk, though a bit wobbly! I put one in a large plant pot yesterday and he started scratching around, he really enjoyed himself in the sun. I brought him in after about twenty minutes, the exercise did him good. I had the other one out too...

Thank you, I will look it up, sometimes it can be a different name here! The chicks are still alive, as I make sure they are eating and drinking, I know they wouldn't have survived in the hen run. However while they seem happy, I will work with them, but won't be adding to my flock or giving any...

I did mention, I'm pretty sure it is Marek, so they are separated from any contact with the rest of my flock. Like you, I have a closed flock no one in or out, boots dipped in bleach, before entering any of the runs. Also like you , all my chickens are family pets, they live out their lives...

Not silkies, Dad is Pekin, not sure what the mama is, but they are so cute. It looks like they have Mareks, one leg out in front, and very shaky, but they are eating well and drinking water. Don't know how they got it, all the other chicks are well. But today one of the two sick ones, is walking...

I just can't "cull" - chicks are all pets ... yet my dogs are raw fed too, but not with my pet chickens! Mine die of old age! so far I give my eggs away to friends etc. should sell them though, it's getting expensive as the flock expands lol.

Thanks ... I know what you mean, I just love my little guys! They are still perky, though unable to walk, so today I exercised their little legs. I put them on their backs and gave twenty push and pull on each leg, very gently of course, they enjoyed, it as they fell asleep, I will do it again...

Thank you you so much L KY C ... That gives me so much hope, I was thinking of putting my two out with the others as the weather is nice now. I have a large rabbit cage, so none of the bigger hens will bother them, but they will be able to see each other. my babies are looking good, and even...

Thank you for your help Weatherdwings ...I have done the search, apart from giving them vit.B2 and vit.E, nothing can be done for them, but while they are perky, and eating, I will keep them comfortable. I just love them, they are in their ninth week, but they are such little characters! As I...

    chicks

Thank you, but I hope it doesn't kill them! One seems to be able to stand a bit more, but the other is just the same, wobbling about! They seem contented enough, and have each other for company, eating and drinking well. The ten other chicks all seem fine, they all hatched at the same time. I...

I have two lovely eight week old chicks who were running around, first one, then the other, suddenly couldn't walk, I thought they had injured their legs! After checking, there is no broken bones,...they just stumble around ... poo, normal, appetite, normal ... I have them together, in the house...
