As you scan the lit on outcrossing/strain-crossing, I think you will find :
1. Bring in new blood from a related strain. A strain-cross,
not an outcross. ( Wid will explain why.)
2. There should be no more than 1/4 foreign blood in the
strain-cross. That should help to keep your gene pool
stable...
