Hey y'all,
I'm in Onslow county and I'm wondering if anyone is keeping Khaki Campbell ducks? I had a bad hatch (shipped eggs, egg Turner quit, and power outage). Still managed a single peachick and three khaki Campbell ducklings. One duckling was failure to thrive and I'm down to two. 😭
I'm...
What breed of peafowl are you looking for? I'm trying to get some purple peafowl myself and I'm located in eastern nc near the coast. If you see any could you give me the heads up?
I run a cord out the coop and give them a fan. During true heatwaves I could put an AC unit in their shed...normally I use a fan...
The free ranging girls I spray with water sometimes, I give them a shallow kiddie pool to dunk in...ice doesn't work as well as I thought it.
I occasionally make trips up to Greenville, Durham, Pittsboro...depending on how far into the mountains we could meet part way...message me if you want to. :-)
Would anyone be interested in my upcoming batch of BBS Ameraucana? 9 possible if none quit...due to hatch June 24th.
I'm also going to hatch FBC Marans next after this batch.
Sorry to hear you lost one.
Please let me know what you come across. I am also in Jacksonville and plan on starting a flock in the spring. I've just got chickens currently.
Well I swear I feel 50 years old sometimes with how beat up my body is from service. Lol! I think the other thing that really drains me is I'm still dealing with my sleep apnea that I was diagnosed with several years ago. I hate being 28 years old and having, what I feel like, so many health...
I think having twins is harder than me dealing with my two and honestly the whole "2 of everything" is exhausting. I am in a better place now that my kids are 6 and 4. I get to shower no matter if someone else is home or not, they sleep better now and they have very intelligent and funny...
Hey semper, who did you get your Mille fleurs from?
-applause for another person going through what I'm going through with the kids- I'm homeschooling too and having fun with that. Hatching eggs for school...nothing better. :-)
We post it either in the for sale or free to a good home sections in the forum. -buy sell or trade- then click in the subsection you're interested in posting it in.
They should still be at about 75 degrees for their age.
I would put some save a chick in their water and hopefully that helps perk em up.
I do that for the first few weeks for chicks just in case they need an extra bump and it has lowered my mortality rate.
An unlimited supply of food and...
Is it too hot for them?
They should not be above 80 degrees by 5 weeks. I've got mine outside already.,..Had em reduced by 5 degrees every week of life...my 3 week olds pant if it gets above 80 now.
My empty kiddie pool is a 6foot diameter one and it went from empty to full just since yesterday!when it starts overflowing that will be a foot of water!!!
