An update and closure to this thread, I suppose. Updating to perhaps help someone in the future. I decided to cull my guy over the weekend. :( He was still acting completely normal, but the swelling was quickly growing.....all towards the back of his head. Still no other symptoms from him...

Well, almost two weeks later and my Dom roo is still going strong. Still has a massive tumor behind his eyeball. But acts like it isn't there. Still perfectly healthy otherwise, and so is everyone else. I guess I could just chalk this up to one of those fluke things afterall. We got a cold...

Another update..... 48 hours after administering the Baytril and there are no changes. In fact, I think the swelling has gotten a bit bigger. I'm beginning to wonder if he has a tumor or something. He still acts perfectly normal. I suppose my next step is to contact the state extention...

Well, yes, I know you can't diagnose over the internet! LOL! I guess I was just wondering if you (or anyone) has ever seen MG present itself like this, with the localized swelling and no other symptoms. I'm trying not to get paranoid about it, but I am finally getting my flock where I want it...

So you think it might be a sting? I can get some stuff from the vet. Do you still think it could be MG? The main reason I'm on the fence is because it doesn't seem to be in his sinus cavity at all.

I guess I could also mention that the "swelling" almost looks more like a growth. It's more isolated than spread out......like it's almost like a horn bud that is protruding, there is almost a definite "line" where it stops.

Can wild birds be carriers of MG? I know it is very common, I had a flock that had mycoplasma years ago. I was hoping to avoid it this time. :( These birds are not (or have ever shown) any symptoms of what I dealt with before.....aside from this fella who has half a swollen head, and all...

I have a Dominique rooster who will be a year old in December who developed a swollen face (behind his eye, only on one side) about 2-3 weeks ago. It is slowly getting bigger. He is acting perfectly normal......no other signs of illness whatsoever. The swelling isn't in his comb or wattles...
