I'm so sorry to hear this. Poor Millie always breaks my heart when they lose them.

I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

Gosling has pipped internally that's why you can hear it talking so this is critical time mama will probably not come off the egg much and will be even more protective but if others agree it will only take a sec to get the goslings as they hatch and Millie will settle right back down on her eggs.

I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

I PM'd 3 members who hatch so hopefully we'll hear back, what I advised is what I'd do, But good to have back up and it's will be probably another 24 hrs before you see external pip, maybe longer water fowl take a long time to hatch.

I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

I am going to check with others but I'm thinking as cold as it is you'd be better off bringing them in as they hatch. they will take them back even as far out as 3 weeks old probably older. It would be better if you could leave them but at the temps your talking about I wouldn't risk it excited...

I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

Oh good so still time to get some goslings but if that cold I think I'd go ahead and bring them in as they hatch so you will know they will be kept warm. But in their own brooder. Have a stuffed animal and a non breakable mirror to keep the first one company till the next one hatches then you...

I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

I wouldn't put goslings in with chicks, chicks have very sharp beaks and can injure a newly hatched gosling.

I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

What are your outside temps? I think to be on the safe side I'd set up a brooder, you may have to bring the goslings in and keep them inside till the weather settles down, they will probably have them outside and if they get wet and chilled you'll lose them, sometimes first time mamas don't...

I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

How nice to get some new ducks that was a nice blessing. And look forward to seeing some gozzies, just remember you might have to step in and take the gosling inside if the temps are really bad, they'll accept them back but they may not make it if temps are too cold. So when getting close to...

I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

That is so nice there was another member that converted one of those into a cozy house for her 2 geese. I'm glad you were able to do it and helps work through the pain. Keep us updated on any new gozzies and of course new ducks when you get them.

I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

I hope it all works out, I know it's disheartening when right off the bat something like this happens. Hopefully once they have a secure enclosure it will be much better, my geese are so mean to the ducks and chickens they all free range together, but I know just from watching them the flock...

I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

Yes very natural for George to act this way I could never have my geese in with the ducks or chickens. I'm so sorry. He WILL not kill any babies they have he will be very protective just like he is being now. We learn some hard lesson sometimes. Your taking a big gamble not having them...

I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

Percheron chick makes a good point one way of finding out if egg is fertile and if that cold they are going to freeze anyway. I say your temps are going to have to moderate before you see a broody just like here. My goose started laying last year end of Feb and didn't go broody till May...

I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

Wouldn't put it passed them I really don't think i have heard of a goose breed that given the space bedding good food and lots of love didn't want to sit on her eggs and hatch goslings. And my goodness are they devoted parents, your going to love this, except you'll need to watch your gander...

I have acquired a mated pair, the female is standard toulouse and the gander is dewlap, need to move

Has her stub healed okay? always keep her on soft ground or she'll get sores and you don't want to have to deal with staff. as for egg laying well breeding season hasn't quite started for most of us it's usually anywhere from Jan to Feb before it starts depending on where you are in the world...
