    Btw thank you all so much. I have learned lots about geese and hope perhaps she will try again. I have bern reading that fertility rates for dewlaps are pretty low. I may see if next month I can get s ome Toulouse eggs from someone else just to increase her chances of being successful. Thanks...

    We just got home from church and I candled it. Pretty positive its dead. Poor Millie bug is forlorn and is still looking for the eggs. Sad deal. Just sad.

    This am I went out to feed and found Millie off her nest and them all cold. Followed my gut and brought the whole set in to candle. Onlyone has a chick..little one wriggling yesterday. I see no movement. I stuck it in the incubator with the duck eggs. Lost cause?

    Just went out to check again.still no pipping. She got up to drink and stand in the rain. Its like she wanted me to look, she just watched me look in her nest and when I left she went back. Will continue to check tonight and tomorrow. Patience is a VIRTUE! :-)

    Sorry just re read your post.."as they hatch" the talking egg has not pipped yet...so I will just keep watch for now and set up another brooder. Six inches of snow plus ice is wearing me down.

    Ok there is 1 I can hear this am...its warmer and she got up do I picked it up. Judt to be clear..you suggest I brung all the eggs in before they hstch and put them in a brooder? At what temp? I have duck eggs in the incubator niw but they r on a turner so the geesr wont fit. More directions...

    Ok on the brooder. No action yet and upon careful count of the calendar this is actuslly about day 27-/+. During my hot tea runs she lets me get close and listen as long as I dont touch..lol. shes locked down tight as a drum. Its 13 this am. Think my rooster has frost bite poor guy.

    I have not been able to candle but got a good look yesterday. She seems to only get up while im at work but been on snow day so had more time to look couldnt get too close though. She bites terribly if I try to touch her.

    Well we r.down to the last few days. Ms millie has stuck with it this whole time. Since its been so cold I take hot tea several times a.day. this is a pitcher of hot water. She has 7 eggs. Praying we get some babies. Can here no peeping yet. 29 days.....excited

    SO just an update...Millie has definitely gone broody. She only has 3 or 4 eggs but she will not let me look. Its terribly cold but she only gets up on the days it gets above freezing for a drink and a bit of food. She has piled all the hay up around her so that she looks like shes in a hay...

    thanks for the hug Ive cried all morning. I think theyll be ok during the day from dogs and such theyre enclosure is complete its night time predators Im worried about, coons and such...doing everything I can to keep them safe but I had to take them in unexpectedly at an awkward time of year...
