If you were closer, I'd set you up with a Silkie cockerel. I've got 25 eggs in my incubator right now (with plans to add more), I'm sure I'll get my fair share of boys out of them!
That's a gold laced Polish.
That last Silkie question is a tricky one. I've seen lots of hatchery Silkies without beards or crests. It could be non bearded with its crest trimmed up. And, some Silkie/Cochin mixes come with pretty nice crests (with and without beards)...
Sizzles aren't any different than normal frizzles. Their feathers are still soft, they just curl backwards, and mine like a good cuddle. I think you might be confusing them with breeding 2 frizzles together, which is a no no. When you breed 2 together, their feathers get brittle and break off...
Thanks!
No, you aren't mistaken! The smooth and frizzles are from my Sizzle project, my goal is a normal or frizzled feathered bird that looks just like a Silkie ;)
They're some of my favorites!
I have quite a few bantams, mostly Silkies or Sizzles, but I have a few other breeds as well. Here are some of them (get ready for picture overload, this isn't even all of them, I have many more ).
Some of my "normal" bantams.
White Japanese and golden Phoenix banties, they're...
