Pea comb is closely linked on the DNA with the blue egg gene, so pea combs are good indicators of blue or green eggs. It's not 100%, as there are pea combed breeds that lay brown eggs, and the straight combed crested cream Legbar lays blue eggs....but with EE it's a pretty good indicator...
