The americauna's are cool. I just won an auction for bielefelder hatching eggs and crested cream legbar eggs really excited about hatching out those 2 breeds
I order for multiple people so I split the shipping cost among everyone. I'm thinking about doing some meat birds this year too. I'd like to eventually become as self sufficient as possible. Small scale homesteading hopefully. Would be nice to eventually not have to buy store bought chicken...
I have ordered from the before. How many are you ordering? There is normally a minimum when ordering. I have chicks coming from Murray McMurray end of March. What breed are you ordering? Are they just for eggs or for dinner too?
No, I wish I did though. I live on an acre. I sell the eggs out east and honestly couldn't keep up with demand for the eggs. They shouldn't stop laying at 2 years old. They do slow down eventually but at 2 they should still be laying well. I have one hen who is 8 years old that hatches chicks...
I currently have 60 adult laying hens and 20 1 month old Marans I won on an auction. I have some one month old cream crested legbars and some ayem cemani coming next week also. How about yourself?
