    my sister never has to trim goat hooves. But her place has more rocks than grass. My sister has a big herd.

    That is what my baby sister heard! :lau I gave up on keeping mine penned, except at night, they have a nice sturdy but small pen for night. Luckily they are smart, and we have taught then to stay around the house.

    I have heard of people who have made electric work...but I think it is best as a reinforcement on a traditional fence.

    Just go slowly. I would pick away at it slowly. When you get too stressed, or she gets too stressed. ..just stop for the day and start up again tomorrow. With a mess like that. ..you just do what you can...and then keep working at it as it grows.

    for disbudding...sooner is best. Under a week of age is ideal. As to castration, after banding a couple and cutting a couple I GREATLY prefer cutting. It heals much faster..etc. I like to cut at about 8 weeks...but I also have never had an old wether... they all ended up in the freezer.
