Well its not the best of pictures but its the best I could do. These are between the 3 eggs we have. They are getting so big!!! I love to watch them but cant keep them out of their warmer too long. I can see the little head and beak, the wings and legs. They are adorable!! We are half way there!!
I don't know if you can get to that or not but its a video of me candling one of them. I post them on my Facebook bit can't figure out how to do it here.
They are doing amazing. I threw one out a while back but there is life in the other 4. I will try to get pictures. They are so active its like a little ocean in those eggs :)
Dilexi and Amare are on day 6. I can see the eyeballs when I candle them. Decorus and Galea are on day 4 and I can see heartbeats. Polleo was a dud and was thrown out yesterday. I was hoping at least 1 of the 5 would do something. How wonderful 4 of them are
growing wonderfully!! In a few weeks...
Yes ma'am I have 12 zebra finches and 2 society finches and they are in a huge cage next to my art desk. Right now is their laying time. The parents to these babies were some of my babies that hatched last valentines day. Most new parent birds do that. I always find them too late on the bottom...
Hahaha not too many people think they are cute. Those are faces only a Mother could love. I think they are adorable. And yes feeding them is a task. This is the first time I have had the pleasure of feeding some for more than 3 days. The syringe i use has a tip the size of a toothpick. And no...
Yes maam they sure are although we dont know what kind of ducks. I got them in my wipes warmer. It took me 3 days to keep trying things to get it to stabelize at the perfect temp.
Ok so I checked on my eggs. I wasn't going to until the 7th day and today is day 5. I was curious to see if there was anything in them and if not I was going to chunk them before they went bad. Dilexi and Amare are on day 5 incubating and I saw heartbeats in both of them. Decorus, Galea and...
I know they will imprint :) I have raised a ton of baby birds... Bluejays, redbirds, mocking birds so on so forth and released them. These lil ducks... Nope i will keep them as pets. I already have a broodwr made, a bed for when they are out of the brooder, a small swimming pool for when thwy...
Some people are so rude. On my own personal Facebook a family member told me to just leave the duck eggs alone and the ducks will do what they gotta do. I'm doing this to myself. Yep I am. I'm not taking these eggs from a nest. They are laid on rocks and in the grass where people walk and kids...
Today was kinda heartbreaking but I'm not going to let it get me down. At least I tried with the best of my know how. This morning I found two baby finches dead at the bottom of my cage. We went to the Duck Pond and when we came back there were two more baby finches at the bottom of the cage...
Thank you so very much. We go to the duck pond often so when we do see eggs laid in tbe middle of everywhere, we know it was onky a matter of days before they were layed. We took our children today to feed them and found 2 more eggs. I am letting them sit to become room temperature before trying...
Well Peep is no more. :( I did so many things wrong and just found out too late. It was actually at day 14 instead of day 10. We found two more eggs at the park today. I just know know if I want to go through this again. Then on top of that, now I'm feeding two tiny finches that were flung from...
From what I saw last night to what I see today, it looks very different. And its impossible to get a good detailed picture. I drew on the pictures to show kinda what it is I see. The dark blue lines I did look black in the egg. Kinda like they are really dark veins but there are also red veins...
