    In that case yes you can make do with a slightly smaller coop. 3 square feet per chicken. It’s still recommended to be larger so there is less risk of squabbling and more room the hens to get away from each other.

    Is that total space? You should have 3-4 feet per chicken in the coop and 10 feet per chicken in the run. You need at least 40 square feet in the coop and at least 100 in the run and more is better this is just the bare minimum you can get away with.
