Incredibily late to replying to my own post, sorry! Well I can safely say without a doubt Lemon is a rooster! I can also say he is not in anyway a pekin. He looks like a sussex/brahma. I think hes a combination of the two. Either way hes very nice and I love his crowing! He enjoys talking...

Thank you :) Well, I'm sure it's a roo now down to the sounds I've been hearing. The other ladies in the coop are still giving him the occasional peck if he gets too close while theyre eating/drinking. Still curious about the breed though.

I have what was meant to be a buff brahma in the garden, except I was told they're meant to have feathered legs like this one and my one in the garden doesn't. But apart from that they look 100% the same. I just don't seem to have much luck with people giving me the right breeds

So I bought two cute little 4-5 week old chicks, both pekins apparently.. Well, as you can see, this isn't exactly a pekin bantam.. so I've no clue what I've ended up with, all I know is she was meant to be a lemon pekin, so what is she and is she actually a he. S/he is 16 weeks old.
