    Ohh that without a doubt confirms Vic is 100% a male! To get a barred female the father must be barred. Since the rooster isn't barred when you bred him to a barred hen such a Dominique you produce sex-links, solid daughters and Barred sons.

    Reptiles are temperature-dependent where as all avian (birds) species have genotypic sex determination, meaning sex is determined at fertilisation. There is no evidence that incubation temperature can control/alter the sex ratio or development so we can rule that theory out

    Only 3 options I can think of if there was no human interference. 1. The egg was already there. 2. A hen laid an egg in there or near there and it got moved around. 3. Something took the egg from the hens are to where the rooster is planning to eat it, but for whatever reason didn't and left it...
