    I think in peak laying season she maxes out at 4 a week. No way more than that. When I got her I had a white leghorn and it seemed like Patsy never laid compared to her. She had trouble with extremely thin shells 3 weeks ago when she started laying again this year. She took around 4 months...

    Can be but they are a little unpredictable . The more she lays they seem to get somewhat lighter. She's not a great layer and I have no idea how old she is.

    I have been trying ID what kind of hen Patsy was for a couple years now. Here she is. It appears she is a black copper maran, who knew? :confused:

    Mine can stay as long as they want as well. Eggs are not required but they are my pets. Obviously not everyone agrees with that. I do call them freeloaders at times but it doesn't seem to bother them. :confused:
