I moved the 8 chicks out of the bator into the temp. brooder. Here they are. The huge white one is from an Isa egg, 2 of the black chicks are from BCM egg, and one black chick and the rest of the lighter colored chicks are from welsummer eggs. The most likely father is a Olive egger, or maybe a...
Congrats paintedpony! I kinda did the same thing you guys did. I have two young roosters ( actually 3, but third only mates with the other silke, and she's not laying yet.), and because it's winter I didn't seperate. I wanted to do a test hatch not only because it was my second hatch, and some...
another chick is out, and the other is zipping. Still no progress with the other 4 left.
I'll post pics soon as I can get them out of the incubator and in the brooder. I don't want to open it just yet.

Well, checked on the eggs this morning, and some rocking in the turner. I took the turners out, and put them in egg cartons. Added water to get the hunidity up, and crossing my fingers that everything goes well. I even heard a muffled chirp.

I lockdown tomorrow morning. We candled last night, and everything still ok. It's the lockdown part I hate, I get nervous.

Good luck everyone!
I learned from last time.... If it isn't seeping, doesn't smell bad....leave it be. I couldn't see anything at all in my blue eggs, and those were the first to hatch last time. They look the same this time around, so I just mark with a ? and watch.

We candled ours last night. All seem to be going well. We still can't see much in the blue eggs, but they aren't clear. Last time my egg was the first to hatch, so I'm not worried about that.
It's day 12 so not too much longer to go.

We candled ours last night. ( Day 8 ) and all had movement inside. The blues eggs were the hardest to see, but at least we saw something moving.

I candled tonight. I couldn't see too much in the some of the welsummer eggs, but they weren't clear. Like last time, I couldn't see anything at all in the blue eggs. They don't look clear, so like last time I marked them with a ?, and will check again. One of my blue eggs hatched last time, and...
I'm due on the 11th. I'm doing a test hatch with my own eggs. We have 3 new roosters, I know the 2 big roosters ( aka Wynette boys) have been doing their rooster thing. I'm not sure about the silkie rooster. The female silkie we have isn't laying yet, he mainly sticks with her. So, I'm not...
