I think we need the dinosaur blood in the Cornish X line to create meatier Breese chicken. I read that the French farmers harvest the roosters at 4 months and the hens at 5 months. My pure Breese chickens at that age weigh 4 to 5 lbs dressed and in comparison, my Breese/Cornish x cross weigh 4...- CNJ

I crossed my Breese rooster with a Cornish x hen and I am happy with the results. I had some born with white, yellow and blue legs and all of them are nice and plump. I still don't know how long they will live, and how well they will lay. At least the majority of them sleep on a 2 feet high...- CNJ

I notice that we can visually tell the sex of the Bresse chicks when they start to grow their feathers. The females has longer or faster feather growth and the male feathers look short and kind of restricted.- CNJ
