Yea, my daughter painted eggs on the wall to give the chickens a little hint as to where to lay.

Not sure what you mean, the back wall of each nesting area leaves about a 2 inch gap at the bottom for the eggs to roll under and into the collection compartment.😁

I just laid it in tight. I’ve heard them scratching in there, but haven’t had any issues yet. I wanted to be able to clean it if necessary.
