Campho phenique is better than Vaseline for scaly leg mites and it dosent cake half the dirt. More expensive to start, but less mess and you can use it on sores, canker, leg mites, bug bites. I put it on my rooster combs when the mosquitos get bad. :)

It is fine for unfeatherd areas like feet and legs, combs, wattles. It is fine for living and roosting areas. Won't hurt on feathered areas but isn't ideal, it makes them greasy. Greasy chickens still dust bathe and the combo is awful. It is also ok for use on things chickens eat, garden veggies...
